THE SUDANESE ASSAULT

I watched on Saturday evening as the Sudanese National Team beat the so called Super Eagles of Nigeria.  The match ended 1-0 after Bakri's 41st minute
header found the back of the net. The match was not all that eventful. In this post am gonn'be focusing on the Nigerian National team because I am a Nigerian. Infact from my own point of view, the Eagles did not play at all. The recent poor performance of the Nigerian squad has earned them a place at the bottom of their qualifiers group. As a matter of fact the Nation's hopes of qualifying is on the cliff edge at this moment. The poor form which the team brought into the game was not all that considered, the world just felt they needed a win, they were favourites for a win, and they should be able to get a win.

The team has only managed a win in the last 11 matches, drawn 5 and lost 5. The funny thing is that Nothing i mean NOTHING has seemed to changed and the coach was asking for 15 Million Naira salary. I asked myself if these guys are robots and were programmed to play the same way they played from the First match. At one point they were passing and really controlling the game but not attacking. At another point they started pumping bodies into their opponents box while leaving their own box unprotected. The goal came...... then for the rest of the game the pressure on them as the big boys doubled and they were playing like it was an Elementary school soccer-fest. I love football and anybody who loves football is a CRITIC. The team should sit down and reform, rehabilitate and redefine their football. It would be a slap on the face if the Defending Champions do not qualify for the Competition, If they don't qualify they don't get to defend their trophy though. As you read this I want to share a question that leaves me pointless..........WHY DO DEFENDING CHAMPIONS PLAY QUALIFIERS??? WHY DOES IT HAPPEN ONLY IN AFRICA?????
