Daniel Sturridge has pulled out of the Englandsquad ahead of Monday's opening Euro 2016 qualifier with Switzerland after sustaining a thigh injury, the Football Association has confirmed.
Sturridge limped out of a Three Lions training session on Friday morning with the problem and has now returned to Merseyside after a scan confirmed that the injury was too severe for him to feature in Basel.
